Broadway in the Mountains

This week I had a little taste of Broadway right here in Flat Rock

and I loved it!  I went to see Hairspray with my friend Hanna.

Of course, I wasn't allowed to take any pictures during the show, but

I did take one shot of the set before they asked me to put my camera 

away....

The costumes, the actors, the music and the dancing were all amazing.

The playhouse has added an upper level to the stage area allowing for

a live band.  I've been singing "Good Morning Baltimore" for days now. 

We are really blessed to have the State Theatre of North Carolina right

here in our own backyard. I never fail to be amazed at the productions 

that come out of that barn.

This was Hanna's first play at the Playhouse and I'm glad I was able

to enjoy it with her.  The lady who was sitting in front of us who took

this picture assumed we were mother and daughter.  I said, "I don't think

her mother would be willing to give her up, but I'd take her in a heartbeat."
